Waste heat utilisation in the data centre:
We are your partner from Saxony for qualified advice and hands-on support for the reuse of your data centre waste heat
We show you how you can efficiently reuse the waste heat from your data centre. Or how you can benefit from feeding waste heat from data centres into district heating networks.
Why does it make sense to use waste heat in the data centre?
According to the Energy Efficiency Act (EnEfG), new data centres in Germany are obliged to use part of their waste heat (10 % and more) from July 2026, which increases the relevance of concepts for waste heat utilisation from data centres. However, the subsequent use of data centre waste heat makes sense regardless of legal requirements because heat that has already been generated and paid for can be used efficiently. Waste heat utilisation in the data centre thus increases the overall efficiency of your data centre and can sustainably reduce heating costs in the surrounding area by feeding waste heat from the data centre into district heating networks or directly into residential and business premises. With the right knowledge and efficient cooling technologies, waste heat utilisation in the data centre is easy.
How does Cloud&Heat support the waste heat utilisation of your data centre?
By operating our own data centre infrastructure, we have over 15 years of experience in the operation of liquid-cooled IT infrastructures and the efficient use of waste heat in data centres. From the construction and operation of energy and cost-efficient IT and data centre infrastructures, which make waste heat utilisation possible in the first place, to feeding your data centre waste heat into heating networks: With Cloud&Heat Technologies, based in Dresden (Saxony), you have a competent consultant and co-packer at your side to support you on the path to efficient waste heat utilisation in your data centre.
Our services
Location analyses and feasibility studies
We examine which specific measures can be taken to enable waste heat utilisation in your data centre. At newly constructed sites, we submit concepts for the efficient construction and operation of liquid-cooled IT infrastructures, including feeding waste heat from the data centre into local heating networks.
Consultancy and training
We pass on our knowledge to you in consultations and training courses on the operation of liquid-cooled data centres, waste heat utilisation in data centres, legal requirements from the Energy Efficiency Act (EnEfG) or suitable cooling technologies.
Hardware procurement and development services
We support you in the selection of suitable liquid-cooled servers, liquid cooling manifolds and cooling distribution units. Where market-available solutions reach their limits, we develop cooling solutions that fulfil your requirements.
Commissioning and maintenance
We support the operation of your liquid-cooled data centre infrastructure and ensure that quality standards are met. On request, this can be done under thermal load simulation.
